DVDs on Tap: Netflix for the UK. Rock on. Shame they don’t have, say, Vacas (Play does) or much by Miyazaki.
…or Sling Blade . Or Ponette . Not even Dead Man ! Somewhat less rock than I originally hoped, then.
The Rock ’n’ Rundown. I downloaded the trailer because I was bored, and it’s almost too funny. My personal favourite moment is the look on The Rock’s face when he’s told that he’ll be paid ‘250 large.’
Also the Apple Trailers site you can find the trailer for the next film from the Coen Brothers, Intolerable Cruelty . I’m trying to think of something good to say, but it’s not happening. Hopefully it’s not representative of the film, but…Catherine Zeta-Jones? Did Blue Juice , Splitting Heirs , Entrapment , and The Hauting just cease to exist or something? I paid to see some of those!
And there’s the Seabiscuit trailer. I’ve been meaning to read the book since I saw it on the BBC’s list of the best sports books — which reminds me to try once more to find Goalkeepers are Different — but still haven’t gotten around to doing so. Even better, the makers don’t seem to have thrown in a completely pointless romance. Definitely a must-see.
